It follows Cath, a mega-fan of the fictional character Simon Snow, as she adjusts to changes in her life and comes to terms with whether she still needs a fandom to call home. Rowell’s second novel, Fangirl was released in 2013. Four volumes of 200+ pages sounds like the perfect length for a faithful adaptation. At the same time, graphic novels require more space to deliver the same amount of information as prose. I'm working closely with Sam on the script - I've written lots of new dialogue and even some NEW SIMON AND BAZ STUFF. Fangirl is on the longer side for a prose novel, nearly 400 pages. It will be four volumes, and Viz is really sticking to the original vibe of the books. Volume 3 is much better than the first two volumes because there is 2 new characters being focused.
